Jharkhand Pension Crisis: Delayed Payments Cause Hardship for Elderly

In Jamshedpur Rural, a former state president of the BJP, Dr. Dineshanand Goswami, is urging the government to make sure that widow and old-age pensions are paid regularly. He says that when old-age pensions aren’t paid on time, it causes money problems for older people in the area.

The Importance of Regular Pension Payments

Dr. Goswami talked about how tough it is for elderly people when their pensions are late. Many of them depend on this money to buy things they need to live, and when payments are delayed, it makes them worried and unsure of what to do. “The payment of old age pension should be regular, [as] the elderly [are] facing financial difficulties,” said Dr. Goswami.

Call to Fulfill Promises to Farmers

Furthermore, Dr. Goswami is asking Chief Minister Hemant Soren to keep his promise from before the election to buy rice from farmers for ₹3200 per quintal. This promise was made to help local farmers and make the farming economy stronger. He mentioned that the BJP is on the side of the people when they have problems and will fight for what they need. Supporting Vulnerable Populations

Dr. Goswami’s push for these changes is happening at a time when many people who are already struggling are having a hard time with money. Making sure pension payments are on time and keeping promises to farmers are important steps in helping the community and building trust in the government. He shared these thoughts while visiting Chakulia, where he talked with local people and listened to what they were worried about.

Key Issues Raised:

  • Regular payment of widow and old-age pensions.
  • Fulfilling the promise to purchase rice from farmers at a fair price.
  • Supporting vulnerable populations facing economic instability.
