Jharkhand Pond Renovation Halted Over Land Dispute; 4+ Acre Project Stalled

Jharkhand Pond Renovation Halted Over Land Dispute

The renovation of a pond in Mouja Bhashpur, Giridih, has been put on hold due to a land dispute. The project, approved by the Minor Irrigation Department, aimed to restore the pond for the benefit of local villagers.

Pond Renovation Halted

The pond, covering 4 acres and 36 decimals, is located on land recorded under account number 47 and plot number 106. The Minor Irrigation Department had started the renovation work after verifying the land records and securing the necessary permissions. However, the work came to a standstill following a claim of land lease by a local resident.

Land Dispute Arises

Alam Ansari, a resident of Phuljharia village, has claimed that the land was leased to his grandfather, Subhani Mian. Subsequently, he and his associates stopped the renovation work, leading to disagreement with the local villagers who were looking forward to the pond’s restoration. This claim is currently under investigation by local authorities, which are working to determine the validity of the alleged land lease.

According to sources, the land is officially registered as non-agricultural land. Despite this, the claim has prompted a review of the land records. Perhaps this situation could have been avoided with better initial communication with the community. The local administration is actively trying to resolve the dispute so that the renovation work can continue as soon as possible. The goal is to ensure the project’s benefits reach the community without further delays.
