Railway police recently responded to a complaint of harassment on a train, resulting in the arrest of a suspect. The incident occurred on January 31st on train number 13352 Express, specifically in coach S-3. A 31-year-old female passenger reported that a fellow traveler had harassed her. Upon receiving the complaint, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) team in Muri quickly took action and apprehended the accused.
During their investigation, the RPF discovered another layer to the situation. It came to light that a 16-year-old boy, who was traveling with the woman, had allegedly stolen a mobile phone. This theft happened before the alleged harassment, and the woman had confronted the boy about the missing phone. The RPF team clarified that while they initially registered the harassment complaint, the probe uncovered the mobile theft as well. The woman had filed her initial grievance through the railway’s help app, which facilitated the RPF’s immediate response.
According to RPF Muri’s ASI MK Jaiswal, “The female passenger had accused a fellow traveler of harassment.” Currently, police are further investigating the matter to determine if the theft and harassment incidents are connected. This situation highlights the vigilance of the railway security force and their dedication to swiftly responding to reported crimes. This event also serves as a reminder about the significance of maintaining strong security measures within the railway system to ensure passenger safety.
