New Delhi: According to sources in the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the BMW that was taken from Hemant Soren’s Delhi residence belongs to a Congress Rajya Sabha MP who made headlines last year for a large-scale cash recovery from his property.
According to the sources, Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, the Rajya Sabha MP for Jharkhand for the Congress, owns the company that the car is registered under. When Income Tax officers raided Mr. Sahu’s connected premises in December, they found ₹ 351 crore in cash. The BJP attacked the Congress when horrifying images of tax officials counting the pile of cash appeared on TV.
The opposition party claimed it was not involved in the cash recovery and distanced itself from it. Additionally, Mr Sahu emphasised that his company, which dealt in spirits, was the rightful owner of the funds and had no affiliation with the Congress. It had taken ten days to retrieve the cash, and to accomplish the difficult work, forty currency counting machines had to be put to use.

On February 16, Jharkhand’s Champai government will expand its cabinet for the first time. Four ministers from the JMM and Congress quotas each can take an oath on this day. Politics are heated within the ruling party over the minister position.
In JMM-Congress, there are numerous candidates fighting for ministerial positions. The inclusion of Basant Soren, the younger brother of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, in the Champai government is almost a given. The Shibu Soren family will only have one member in the cabinet.
In such a scenario, there is discussion in the political circles regarding whether Sita Soren, the late Durga Soren’s wife and JAMA MLA, should be included in the cabinet. Whichever party originally came up with the old formula for the division of departments in Congress will continue to apply.
In terms of departmental division, the alliance will employ the traditional methodology. The party’s department within the alliance will not change. Chapai Soren’s government will function according to the same formula as Hemant Soren’s.
Unfortunately, Congress does not have the space to reorganize; Congress-RJD will have to make due with the current department alone. Due to Rahul Gandhi’s program, the swearing-in ceremony was originally scheduled for today but was moved. Prior to the swearing-in ceremony on February 8, the state government had asked Raj Bhavan to host the cabinet expansion ceremony. In less than two hours, the administration asked Raj Bhavan once more to reschedule the earlier event for February 16th.
Here, in the midst of evolving events, Chief Minister Champai Soren and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Alam met. The Congress was at a standstill over the minister position. Mr. Alam stated that the party had stated that a little time should be allowed for the taking of the oath in this regard. The governor won’t return until February 12th. It was not possible to swear in on the 13th. The 14th and 15th of February are Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’s second phase. As a result, both the workers and the party will be busy. The swearing-in ceremony has been scheduled for February 16th as a result.
