  • Jharkhand News: In Jharkhand cities, homes constructed without maps will be regularized

Jharkhand News: In Jharkhand cities, homes constructed without maps will be regularized

The government of Jharkhand is getting ready to regularize roughly seven lakh urban dwellings that were constructed without proper maps. For this, the final draft is ready. The Law Department has been notified and asked to approve it. The Law Department has advised that the draft be presented to the Cabinet. It is suggested that regularizing construction completed without authorized maps will result in a fine. For the fine, a concessional slab has been prepared so that an increasing number of people can benefit from it. The committee responsible for drafting the final draft examined the Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana models.

Prior to this, the general public was consulted for ideas and comments on how to improve the efficiency and clarity of the suggested plan. Remarkably, the CM himself approved the policy draft created for this purpose by the State Urban Development and Housing Department in November 2022. Different fees were suggested for regularizing residential and non-residential buildings in the first draft of the policy.

    azad basti jamshedpur

The original draft suggested fixing fees of Rs 100 per square meter for residential buildings, Rs 100 per square meter for residential buildings of Municipal Corporation, Development Authority, Municipality area, and Rs 150 per square meter for non-residential buildings. Cities with Nagar Panchayats would pay Rs 50 per square meter for residential buildings and Rs 75 per square meter for non-residential, while Municipal Council (Nagar Palika Parishad) areas would pay Rs 75 per square meter for residential buildings and non-residential.

However, it has undergone some modifications as a result of user feedback and analysis of the three states’ models. Under this scheme, only houses with a maximum height of fifteen meters and G plus three floors are expected to be regularized. In addition, this scheme will only apply to owners of residential and commercial properties built before December 31, 2019.
