    Administrative reorganisation in Jharkhand: Principal IAS Officers assigned to new positions

    Ranchi: The state government of Jharkhand has announced the transfer of eight Indian Administrative Service (IAS) personnel, with Rajiv Arun Ekka taking on the crucial position of Member Revenue Board. This represents a huge administrative reform. With immediate effect, the reorganisation includes new duties and responsibilities for a number of officers in several departments.

    Rajiv Arun Ekka has been assigned the roles of Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Backward Class Welfare Department, and Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department in addition to his job as Member Revenue Board.

    The Health Department has been given an extra task by Ajay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the Rural Affairs Department. This means that the Women and Child Development Department will now be under the direction of Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat.

    The Principal Secretary of the Planning Development Department has been appointed, replacing Mast Ram Meena, who served as the Principal Local Commissioner. The Land Revenue Department has been placed under the supervision of Manish Ranjan, Secretary of the Drinking Water Department.
    The Labour Department’s head, Rajesh Sharma, has been moved to the Drinking Water Department as the Secretary. The Finance Department Secretary, Prashant Kumar, has been named.

    Furthermore, K Srinivasan, the Advanced Training Institute (ATI) Director, would now take up the dual responsibilities of ATI Director and Local Commissioner for Jharkhand Bhawan.

    Ranchi: Arun Kumar Rai, a senior judicial officer of the Judicial Service Cadre and the Chief Justice of the Ranchi Civil Court, is scheduled to be appointed as a judge of the Jharkhand High Court. With this appointment, the number of judges who have moved from Civil Court Ranchi to the High Court to date is four. The promotion of AK Rai to the position of High Court judge has received approval from the Supreme Court collegium, which is in charge of proposing judges’ nominations across the nation.

    On January 18, the collegium formally endorsed AK Rai’s nomination for Jharkhand and recommended him for the role. AK Rai will take the oath of office as a High Court judge as soon as the President gives his consent. AK Rai, a native of Purnia district in Bihar, has served in a number of judicial capacities, including member secretary of Jhalsa, district and sessions judge of Hazaribagh, and family court judge of Bokaro. On November 5, 2021, he was most recently appointed Chief Justice of Ranchi Civil Court.

    Jamshedpur: All government, aided, unaided (including minority) and private schools in the state are required to adjust their school hours due to the ongoing cold wave, according to a directive from Jharkhand’s Department of School Education and Literacy. The revised timetable will go into force on January 19 and last until January 25.

    The school day has been rescheduled for kids in Kindergarten through fifth grade to run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This change allows students to start their day later and avoid being exposed to the early morning cold. In the meantime, classes 6 through 12 will meet from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

    Carmel Junior College announced on January 19 that it would be closing its doors to students in Nursery through HKG due to unanticipated circumstances. The goal of the decision is to guarantee the youngest students’ safety and wellbeing on the designated date.

    With the increasing severity of cold weather in the area, our decision aims to protect the safety of staff and students during the winter months. It is anticipated that the new schedule would offer a more cosy classroom, especially for the younger pupils.

    After being struck by a Utkal Express close to the yard near the Gamharia railway station in Jharkhand, four people perished. Railway and local police arrived at the scene as soon as word of the accident spread.

    The Utkal Express was traveling from Haridwar to Bhubaneswar when the accident happened. Because of the fog, the accident victims were unaware of it. Everybody was stepping over the railroad tracks.

    Near the Gamharia railway station in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand, four people perished after being struck by a train. As soon as the accident was reported, the Gamharia, RIT police station and Tatanar Railway Police arrived on the scene. Tatanagar GRP has sent a medical van.

    It is being told that due to fog, people did not understand the speed of the train and the accident occurred.

    The Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) ongoing investigation into a high-profile money laundering case took a major turn when Hazaribagh-based coal businessman Izhar Ansari was arrested for questioning.

    RANCHI In a significant development, prominent coal entrepreneur Izhar Ansari of Hazaribagh has been taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

    Ansari’s Hazaribagh home was raided by the ED, leading to the arrest.

    On January 16, this operation took place as a component of a bigger inquiry investigating irregularities in coal linkage.

    Allegations that Ansari engaged in illicit coal trafficking through a number of shell firms are the basis for the ED’s action.

    Additionally, he is accused of assisting illegal financial transactions with the assistance of suspended IAS official Pooja Singhal.

    Suspicions of financial impropriety were heightened when over Rs 3 crore in cash was found during the raid at Ansari’s premises earlier in March 2023.

    According to the most recent events, Ansari was brought before a Ranchi special court by the ED in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

    Recognising the seriousness of the accusations, the judge allowed the ED to question Ansari for six days.

    Deoghar: Late on Wednesday night, robbers killed a mother and son in Govindpur, near the Jasidih police station, while they were asleep in their home. Meeni Devi has been recognised as the deceased woman. Following the event, the thieves broke into the house’s cabinet and stole the money and jewellery that was inside. It’s possible that the thieves staged this incident as a kind of protest against the looting.

    On Thursday morning, word of the incident spread. The police arrived on the scene after receiving this information, and they are currently looking into the situation. The deceased’s family says that this murder was conducted by persons from adjacent communities in exchange for money transfers.
