The patients received quick medical attention and are currently receiving care at Tata Main Hospital (TMH).

According to Mohammad Majeed’s account of the incident, Altamash, Sabbo, Mujahid, and Bikki stopped him and his companion Mahfooz outside Murga Chowk as they were making their way home from a party. After they got into a fight, Bikki pulled out a revolver and shot six times. Mahfooz Alam was struck on the palm, and Majeed was injured in the waist and hands.

Indian Army Day 2024: Honouring the valour and selflessness

India observes a day of immense pride and gratitude on January 15th of each year to honour its brave Indian Army. The 76th anniversary of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, taking over from the British in 1949, makes this year’s celebration of the occasion even more significant in 2024.

Field Marshal K M Cariappa succeeded British Commander-in-Chief General Francis Butcher on 15 January 1949, to become the first leader of the Indian Army. Indian Army Day is being observed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, this year. There will be a parade on this unique day in front of dignitaries, and the Indian Army Chief will salute.

This year, the parade will be led by the Central Command of the Army, based in Lucknow. The Indian Army is composed of seven groups, one of which is the Central Command. The Bengaluru parade was overseen by the Southern Command the year before.

INDIAN ARMY DAY’S SIGNIFICANCE: This is a day for reflection and remembrance as much as for celebration. It’s a day to honour the innumerable gallant warriors who have given their lives in defence of the country, to acknowledge the steadfast devotion of those who guard our borders, and to recognise the sacrifices made by their families.
