Ranchi: A fraud of Rs 1.49 lakh has been perpetrated against Dr. Ranjan Srivastava, a resident of Lalpur Nagara Toli, under the guise of Mauritius Tour. In this context, Dr. Ranjan Srivastava has filed a case at the Lalpur police station accusing Sonam Chaudhary, Shalini, and Bhupesh Paugi of deceit and fraud.
It has been stated in the filed FIR that he had a lavish vacation plan for two decades. Sonam Choudhary called him and mentioned the same thing, stating he was going to retire. ‘Do you wish to take a holiday?’ Then he received a call from Shalini a few days later. She presented the itinerary.
It was mentioned that a full tour of Mauritius, dinner at the hotel, and transportation could all be arranged as part of the tour package in addition to the stay there. She stated that Rs. 1.49 lakh would need to be paid for this. The tour itinerary was also sent to Dr. Ranjan via email.
He also received an account number and QR code to use for payment. The first attempt to pay into the specified account was made by Dr. Ranjan. But he was turned down. Following that, a payment of Rs 49 thousand through Google Pay and Rs. 1 lakh via QR code was made.
The fraud was discovered when the mail was delivered to the business that was offering the tour plan.
Following the payment, Dr. Ranjan Srivastava was requested to capture a screenshot of the transaction. He sent it by mail to Shalini, a girl. However, upon forwarding his vacation itinerary in its entirety to Leela Grand Vacations, the planning company, he received a response stating that they did not receive any payment. Following this, customer service was contacted and informed that fraud was occurring under Leela Grand’s name. Dr. Ranjan repeatedly contacted the girl who had provided the plan and requested a refund; however, she refused to return the money.
All of the phone numbers that were calling him, after that began to be disconnected. Following that, they realized they had been defrauded. In response, he filed a fraud complaint with the Lalpur police department.
