Andhra Pradesh CM Celebrates Sankranti, Unveils NTR Statues in Native Village

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu spent Tuesday in his home village Naravaripalli celebrating Sankranti with family. They did religious things like praying to village gods Gangamma and Nagalamma. Lots of his family joined in too including his wife son and grandson. This is a big harvest festival in that part of the country.

After the prayers Naidu and his wife did something else important. They revealed statues of the late N.T. Rama Rao and his wife Basvatarakam. N.T. Rama Rao was a former Chief Minister and started the Telugu Desam Party the same party as Naidu. The statue unveiling was also in Naravaripalli. It was to honor him and his wife.

So it was a busy day for the Chief Minister. He got to celebrate Sankranti with his family and remember N.T. Rama Rao’s political impact. This all happened January 16th. The day mixed important family traditions with history of the region.
