Andhra Pradesh to Favor Larger Families in Local Elections

Andhra Pradesh to Favor Larger Families in Local E

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu said people with more than two kids will get a boost in local elections like for sarpanch, municipal councilor, or mayor. He said this in Tirupati because he wants to help the population grow instead of shrink. He thinks having more children should be a good thing, unlike before.

Basically he wants to encourage bigger families by making it easier for them to get into local government. Before, if you had a lot of kids it was harder to run in these elections. Now, it seems that those with three or more kids will get an advantage.

To make this happen new rules need to be written and put in place but we don’t know exactly when this will happen yet. The whole idea according to the Chief Minister is to get the population up and turn things around so people have bigger families by giving them these advantages when it comes to local elections.
