Baba Siddique, a prominent Mumbai MLA for the Bandra neighbourhood, is famous for hosting Celebrity Iftar party in Ramadan ,announced his resignation from the Congress on Thursday.
Siddique, a well-known minority leader in the Mumbai Congress, was a minister during the Congress-NCP coalition’s rule.
“I joined the Indian National Congress party as a young teenager and it has been a significant journey lasting 48 years,” Siddique remarked, responding to X. With immediate effect, I am leaving the Indian National Congress Party as a primary member today.
He acknowledged everyone who had supported him along the way and added that although there are many things he would have liked to say, certain things are best kept to yourself.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Ajit Pawar, is rumoured to be recruiting the Congress MLA.

Who is Baba siddique?
In addition to serving as the MLA from 1999 to 2009, Baba Siddique was also a Minister of State for Labour, Food and Civil Supplies, and the FDA from 2004 to 2008, and she had previously held the position of Municipal Corporator for two terms in a row (1992–1997). At the moment, he is the Parliamentary Board of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee’s and the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee’s Chairperson and Senior Vice President.
