Chennai Airport Flights Disrupted by Bhogi Smoke, Dozens Impacted

Chennai Airport Flights Disrupted by Bhogi Smoke D

On Monday morning, Chennai airport had some trouble with flights. The smoke from burning old clothes and tires made it hard to see. This is a tradition for the Bhogi festival. Because of the smoke, three Indigo flights coming from Delhi and Bengaluru had to be cancelled. It just wasn’t safe to land with the visibility so low.

Besides those cancellations, the airport changed the times for about 30 other flights. This included both flights coming in and going out to different places. Some of the places were Dubai, Singapore, and even other cities in India like Delhi and Mumbai. They did this to be extra careful and keep everyone safe with all the smoke.

The big problem was that people were burning old stuff for the festival. It’s a tradition, but it made so much smoke that planes couldn’t fly easily. The airport and the airlines worked hard to make sure everyone was safe by cancelling or changing the flight schedules.
