A building in Raigarh district India that used to be a church was torn down on January 8th it was found out about on January 12th This happened after Anshu Tuneja a BJP leader publicly said on December 29th that the building was built illegally on land that didn’t belong to them. The building was completely destroyed using a bulldozer.
Anshu Tuneja also claimed that the local Christian community was trying to convert people to their religion. Before the building was knocked down he also gave some sort of warning to someone but the details aren’t clear. It all started with the accusations in late December and then the demolition happened a little over a week later. Then the news became public on the following Monday.
The building’s demolition happened after a local BJP leader said it was built illegally there’s no mention of any official group doing the demolition or any investigation. A bulldozer was used to destroy the building. This incident shows that there are problems with religious tension in that area after the political leader made accusations.
