The Chhattisgarh government will give 1 million rupees to the family of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai shared this news after Chandrakar’s death in Bijapur. Sai mentioned they will also build a place for journalists and name it after Chandrakar.
Mukesh Chandrakar was a 33 year old freelance journalist. He went missing on January 1st and was later found deceased. The report doesn’t say how or why he died. The government is helping the family with money and creating a memorial for him.
The Chief Minister told reporters about this plan. It’s meant to help Chandrakar’s family and also support journalists in the area. The new building is a way to remember Chandrakar and give a space for local journalists.
