A violent clash between Sikh and Muslim communities in Bhopal’s Jehangirabad area injured at least six people. The conflict, involving stone-throwing and sword-brandishing, began following an earlier altercation on December 22 over speeding motorcycles. Reportedly, a man named Faiz attacked a Sikh individual with a knife after allegedly driving recklessly.

Following Faiz’s arrest, Sikh community members retaliated, allegedly attacking a Muslim man. This led to widespread violence, with homes targeted by stone-throwing and sword-brandishing. Police responded swiftly, increasing their presence to bring the situation under control, but tensions remain high.

Authorities are mediating between the groups, with a gathering of Sikh community members at a Gurudwara. Police have launched an investigation and are urging residents to maintain peace.
