On Tuesday the Congress party said Prime Minister Modi hasn’t paid enough attention to the problems in Manipur. This happened on the first year anniversary of their ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ which started in Manipur. They pointed out that even though the Prime Minister has traveled to other countries he hasn’t gone to Manipur to help people dealing with the violence. They see this as a big difference between his work overseas and his lack of action at home.
The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ started in Manipur last year led by Rahul Gandhi to talk about problems people are facing. The Congress said that the anniversary of this event was a good reason to show how the Prime Minister has ignored Manipur. They think that because Modi hasn’t visited he doesn’t care about what’s happening there especially with the fighting and unrest. They want to see the national leaders pay more attention and take action to help.
Congress is saying that the Prime Minister seems to care more about other countries than what is happening here at home. They say he goes on a lot of trips overseas but hasn’t taken the time to go to Manipur a place that is having a really hard time. The party is trying to show that the government isn’t doing enough to help the people in Manipur especially by bringing this up on the anniversary of the Yatra.
