During the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti a chadar was offered at Ajmer Sharif Dargah on behalf of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Munavvar Khan a former vice president of the Dargah Committee presented it. This act shows respect for the saint’s teachings like love and unity. Singh’s message which Khan read talked about the saint’s promotion of brotherhood and peace, pointing out how people of different religions take part in the Urs. Earlier, a similar offering was made on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, shows respect for all religions.
Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs had given the chadar from PM Modi before which is how high-ranking officials honor the saint. The Urs draws people from all over who come to show their respect ask for blessings and celebrate peace between different religions.
This year with a petition filed in Ajmer court in November 2024. It says the Dargah was built over a Shiva temple. The court took the petition and sent notices to people involved. Hindu Sena president Vishnu Gupta asked Prime Minister Modi not to send a chadar this year.
