Delhi Airport is stopping all flights from 10:20 AM to 12:45 PM every day until January 26th because of Republic Day. This means no planes will take off or land during that time each day. This change started January 19th and will last for eight days. Delhi Airport is usually very busy with about 1300 flights daily.
The airport sent out a notice about this. They didn’t explain why those specific hours were chosen but it’s all tied to Republic Day security. We don’t know exactly how this will affect everyone’s flights yet. If you are flying during those times you should call your airline to see if anything has changed and if you need to do anything different.
This is all for safety reasons during the Republic Day week. The airport is asking airlines staff and passengers to all work together so things run as smoothly as possible. These flight stops could lead to long delays or changes to your flight time so it’s really important you talk to your airline before going to the airport.
