Virendra Sachdeva the Delhi BJP president had his birthday on Sunday and spent it with people in Nehru Camp a slum area. This was part of a BJP effort to talk to people in slums. He and another BJP leader Vishnu Mittal spoke to the residents saying if the BJP wins they’ll make sure everyone in Delhi has a home. He also said by January 2026 the Nehru Camp would be a much better place with good bathrooms.
Sachdeva also spoke at a press meeting in the camp saying that Arvind Kejriwal from the AAP let slums grow bigger while he was in charge for ten years. He said the BJP will work to make slums better and give people good homes. The campaign and his birthday celebration are ways the BJP is trying to connect with people and get their support.
The BJP campaign was trying to show that other parties didn’t do enough for people in slums. By promising better housing and bathrooms Sachdeva and the BJP want to show they have a different plan than the AAP. Choosing Nehru Camp for this event shows they’re trying to reach a specific group of people and prove they’ll fix housing and sanitation problems in Delhi.
