The Muslim community has been urged by the Gyanvapi Masjid Committee to hold special prayers during Friday prayers and to close their stores and businesses on Friday.
Amidst all of this, the Gyanvapi campus has more security measures in place, and a significant number of security officers have been sent out. When it comes to Friday prayers, the police are very vigilant. In sensitive areas, police are conducting flag marches.
In an appeal released on Thursday night, Abdul Batin Nomani, the general secretary of the Gyanvapi Masjid Committee, stated: “Worship has begun in the southern basement of Gyanvapi Masjid based on the decision of the Varanasi District Judge.” A number of Muslim organizations have made an appeal in light of the current circumstances. Accordingly, Muslims should offer a special namaz and peacefully close their stores and businesses on February 2.
Muslims all throughout the nation have been asked to organize special prayers in their local cities and areas in response to the appeal. According to the appeal, total peace and order must be upheld during this time, and Muslims must offer Friday prayers at the same mosque where they normally pray.
