Between October and January, Hyderabad police did a big operation against the selling of Chinese Manja kite string. They arrested 148 people and made 107 cases in different parts of the city. This was to stop people from selling and using this dangerous string mostly around the Sankranti festival.
They seized a lot of it too like 7334 rolls of Chinese Manja which cost about 90 lakh rupees. This type of string is really dangerous because it’s made of things like nylon and has glass or metal coating. This makes it super sharp and can really hurt people, animals and birds.
Police started this crackdown because Chinese Manja is just too dangerous. It can cause bad injuries and it’s a big safety issue. The police did their work all over the city to stop the sale of this stuff and to keep people safe during the festivals.
