India’s Parliament is getting ready for its budget session and it’s going to start around January 31st and go until about February 13th. The session will kick off with President Murmu giving a speech to everyone in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Right after that, the government will share the economic survey which tells us how the Indian economy is doing. And the main thing in this first part is when Finance Minister Sitharaman presents the national budget likely on February 1st.
This budget session is important because the government shows its financial plans for the coming year. They’ll tell us how much money they expect to make and spend and they might change taxes or other money related rules. During the first part of the session parliament members will talk about these things after they are presented. The dates of the session are basically a timeline for all these things happening.
After this first part Parliament will take a break and then come back in March for the second half. In that half they will talk more about the budget and other laws. This whole budget session is a big deal for India’s economy each year and lets the country check how the government is handling finances.
