Indian Passport Among Weakest in G20, Hindering Global Travel

Indian Passport Among Weakest in G20 Hindering Glo

India’s passport isn’t very strong compared to other big countries in the G-20. It’s ranked about the same as some countries in Africa like Equatorial Guinea and Niger. This makes traveling to other countries harder for Indian people because they often have to go through a lot of visa stuff, sometimes get turned down or have to wait a long time.

The Henley Passport Index shows how easy it is to travel with different passports and India’s low ranking compared to other G-20 nations shows that Indian people don’t have the same freedom to travel. This means getting visas is often difficult and there are more restrictions when Indian citizens try to travel compared to those from places with stronger passports.

This situation means Indian citizens don’t have the same travel opportunities as other countries and there’s a gap between India’s goals to be a global leader and the ease of travel for its citizens. Because of this, Indian citizens have to deal with a lot of visa procedures which include possible rejections and delays.
