Sajida Parveen from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind said Indian women still face a lot of oppression even with progress. She was really upset because a man in Parbhani burned his wife alive for having a third daughter. Parveen said Indian women go through unfairness their whole life starting when they’re born and face cruelty and humiliation. She thinks that too much focus on money is making things worse and breaking up families.

She mentioned the National Crime Records Bureau said there were 445,256 crimes against women in 2022 about 1220 a day showing how big the problem is. She also said that people still think girls are shameful while they celebrate having boys. She pointed out that Islam teaches that women are important Prophet Muhammad made women’s status higher and heaven is promised for parents who raise daughters right. She was proud that Muslim community celebrate the birth of daughters and try to keep them safe.

Parveen said laws are not enough to stop these horrible things. She wants everyone to do something by respecting women and teaching people about how materialism can be dangerous plus teaching kids to be responsible. She thinks that only by changing how people think can we stop these tragedies and protect women’s rights in India.
