Karnataka Court Halts Defamation Case Against Rahul Gandhi

Karnataka Court Halts Defamation Case Against Rahu

The Karnataka High Court stopped the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi a Congress MP for now. The BJP who are the national ruling party filed this case through their state team. Justice M. Nagaprasanna looked at a request from Gandhi to cancel the case and decided to pause it for now. The next hearing will happen in February 20.

The BJP accused Gandhi of something but they didn’t say exactly what. After that a Magistrate Court gave Gandhi bail in June 2024. The High Court stopping the case means that no more legal steps will be taken against Gandhi for a while. This gives him some time to work on his defense.

This case shows the legal fight between the Congress and BJP. While Gandhi gets a break with this stop order the main problem isn’t fixed and more legal stuff might happen. The High Court hasn’t said yet if Gandhi is guilty or if there will be a trial he will have to wait till the February date to find out.
