In Pathanamthitta a young woman who is 18 said she was abused by over 60 people since she was 13. She told a volunteer from Kudumbashree about it after turning 18. The volunteer then informed the Child Welfare Committee. The police made two reports and arrested six people. There are also cases against 40 other people whose info was on the woman’s dad’s phone.
The abuse started when she was only 13 and went on for years. She told someone after she became an adult which started the investigation. Her dad having the names and numbers of the abusers on his phone helped the police find out who they were and start legal action.
The police are still working on the case and looking at the people the woman talked about. Six people have been arrested so far. The legal cases are based on what the woman said and the info from the phone. Advocate N. Rajee is involved and the police are still investigating to find anyone else involved in this.
