Muslim leader Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi from All India Muslim Jamaat says the land for the Mahakumbh festival is actually 55 bighas of Waqf Board land a muslim trust. He says muslims let the festival happen there and Hindus should let muslims join the festival too.
But S.M. Yasin from Gyanvapi mosque committee says the Waqf Board got no proof or papers for this claim. He says it’s just for attention and this land been used for Kumbh for years and years. Zafar Farooqui chairman of Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board also says he never heard of this land being theirs.
Shia leader Maulana Yasub Abbas thinks the land might be Waqf but it shouldn’t stop the festival. He wants Hindus and Muslims to be together and says this argument is small politics. He says everyone has a right to their religion. He said the land isn’t gonna get taken.
