Female students at Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal had to remove their hijabs and abayas for security checks during exams. It’s like they were searched way too much by the female staff, checking their hair and even personal items you know, it was not right and made many of them feel really bad.
After a student told the Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO), they all got together with Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and the Students Islamic Organisation (SIO). They went and made a complaint to the university and even met with the college principal. He said sorry and promised to look into it quickly, like in three days time.
After all that happened, girls could wear their hijabs and abayas for the next exams and the security was better. But the girls, they’re still shook up and want changes so this never happens again. Everyone’s talking about making rules that respect different cultures and religions while keeping exams safe for everyone.
