The Supreme Court Collegium is looking into Justice Shekhar Yadav’s comments made at a Vishwa Hindu Parishad event where he supposedly talked about muslims. They had a meeting with him where he was asked to explain himself but he hasn’t said sorry for his remarks.
Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna went to the Allahabad High Court asking for a new report cause this is a serious thing. It’s been like three weeks since they talked to Justice Yadav and he hasn’t changed his mind or apologized at all for what he said.
To make it more complicated a petition was tossed out in Allahabad High Court about Justice Yadav’s impeachment. The court said it’s meant for downtrodden folks and not for this kind of thing and basically the case didn’t fit the rules so they couldn’t take it.
