A 27-year-old student from Assam was found eating raw cat meat at a busy bus stand in Kuttippuram, Kerala, on Saturday evening. The man, who has not been identified, told police that he had not eaten anything in five days.
The incident came to light after local people saw the man sitting on the steps of the bus stand and eating the raw flesh of a dead cat. They informed the police, who rushed to the spot and took the man into custody. The man told police that he was a college student in Assam and had come to Kerala without informing his family. He said that he had been homeless and hungry for several days and had no other option but to eat the cat.
The man was taken to a hospital for a medical examination. He is said to be in stable condition. Police are trying to contact the man’s family. They said that they would provide him with assistance once his family arrives.
This incident has highlighted the issue of hunger and homelessness in India. According to a recent report by the National Sample Survey Office, over 190 million people in India are food insecure. This means that they do not have regular access to enough safe and nutritious food.
The report also found that over 100 million people in India are homeless. This means that they do not have a safe and secure place to live.
The government has launched several schemes to address the issue of hunger and homelessness. However, much more needs to be done to ensure that everyone in India has access to food and shelter.
