Rahul Gandhi spoke at a rally in Seelampur before the Delhi elections He mainly talked about Arvind Kejriwal from AAP and Narendra Modi the Prime Minister saying both had made false promises to the people. Gandhi said they were similar in how they hadn’t done what they said they would. This rally was in an area that saw a lot of violence earlier and Gandhi talked about that too.
Gandhi specifically said that Kejriwal has let corruption grow in Delhi which he thinks is a big failure. He argued that both Kejriwal and Modi had tricked people to get power and hadn’t really helped the community. By pointing out what he saw as dishonesty Gandhi was trying to make Congress look like a better option for leadership.
The rally was meant to get Congress supporters excited for the election in a key part of Delhi. Gandhi’s plan was to directly attack the leaders of the other parties pointing out their flaws. The location of the rally also seemed important because it was in a place affected by violence. He wanted to show his party was different from the others hoping to get voters back for the upcoming election.
