A book and manuscript show happened at Aligarh Muslim University’s library in India for two days. It was put together with the ‘Ali Society’ to celebrate Ali Day the birthday of Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib. The university’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon opened the show and checked it out. There were old handwritten books and documents in different languages plus lots of Holy Quran copies.
The main thing was a 900-year-old Nahj-al-Balagha which is a famous collection of Hazrat Ali’s speeches and sayings. It’s thought to be the oldest copy around. This old book really showed how important and historic the show was. The library and the ‘Ali Society’ worked together to make sure these old documents are safe and that people can learn from them.
This event was a way for people to learn about important religious and writing pieces especially those tied to Hazrat Ali. By showing these very old manuscripts the show helped people at the university and in the area learn more about Islamic history. The Vice Chancellor being there also shows how important the university thinks this cultural event is for everyone to learn about history and different beliefs.
