Supreme Court Orders Halt to Worship Place Surveys Amid Mosque Dispute

Supreme court ordered all lower courts to stop taking new cases for surveys of any worship place until further notice this action happened because survey of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal back in November 2023 created tension and legal fights and a local court set a hearing for March 5 about the mosque survey in Chandausi.

Hindu groups say Shahi Jama Masjid was built on old Harihar temple grounds this claim is the main legal problem Shakil Ahmad Wari representing the Muslim side said court will decide on it this issue caused problems in Sambhal since the survey started on November 19.
