Telangana Court Dismisses Election Code Case Against KTR, BRS Leaders

Telangana Court Dismisses Election Code Case Again

The Telangana High Court has ended a criminal case against K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, and several others. This decision came down on Friday, January 25th, after the court reviewed the accusations made against them. The case had been filed by the Charminar police, who alleged that KTR and other BRS members had broken election rules.

The police claimed that KTR and his party members attended an unauthorized meeting on May 30, 2024. This meeting was supposedly organized by candidates running for Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Charminar and Bahadurpura. Furthermore, the police accused KTR of ordering the removal of important symbols from the Telangana State logo. These symbols were the Charminar and Kakatiya Kala Thoranam, and the police said their removal violated election rules.

However, after reviewing the case, the High Court concluded that there was not enough evidence to support these accusations. The judges stated that there was no clear violation of election rules at the meeting itself. Moreover, they found no solid proof connecting KTR to the alleged order to remove the state symbols. The court explained that the police’s claims were unclear and not backed by enough facts.

This ruling is a significant victory for KTR and the BRS party. The dismissed case clears them from a potentially damaging legal fight. This legal battle had caused considerable political conflict, and the BRS had always argued that the case was politically driven.

The High Court’s decision effectively closes a chapter of legal troubles for KTR and the BRS party. The court’s emphasis on the lack of concrete evidence has affirmed their position. With the case dismissed, they can now focus on their political activities without this legal burden.
