On January 16th, CPI(M) state leader T. Veerabhadram and other party members went to check out a spot in Ramannapet where a cement factory might be built. This happened in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. While there, Veerabhadram asked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to undo the deals made with the Adani Group at the Davos meeting. He thinks the cement factory is because of those deals and is worried about Adani’s past business actions.
Veerabhadram also said that the deals with Adani, worth a lot of money around 1,750 crore rupees, could be risky and seem like they have a history of dishonesty. He thinks the government should be very careful and open about these big money deals. He believes the agreements made at Davos could be bad for the state. His comments were mainly aimed at the Telangana government pushing them to think again about those deals.
The problem they have with the deals is really about the Adani Group’s history and how that might affect Telangana. The CPI(M) leaders said that going to the site and talking about it publicly are ways to show they disapprove and want the government to be responsible for the agreements they made in Davos. They want to make sure the state’s money is used in a way that won’t hurt the people.
