On January 15th some officials in Telangana arrested Mohammad Asifuddin a sub-registrar along with two other guys named Banoth Ravi Kumar and Armoor Ravi. They work in the Jagtial district. The police said all three of them were taking bribes. Banoth Ravi Kumar helped out at the office and Armoor Ravi helped with paperwork. They were all arrested in Hyderabad.
The police say Mohammad Asifuddin wanted a 10000 rupee bribe. He was supposed to give someone important paperwork but wouldn’t until he got the money. The police set a trap and caught them in the act. It’s against the rules for a sub-registrar to do this type of stuff.
Now all three are in trouble with the law. The police are still looking into the case. This shows that corruption is still a problem with some government jobs. But the authorities are working hard to stop it.
