According to a fire department official, at least 11 people were saved after becoming buried beneath the rubble of a temporary building at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, which fell on Saturday morning.
Atul Garg, the Director of Delhi Fire Service, revealed the information to IANS, stating that a call regarding the collapse of a temporary structure in JLN stadium had been received. “Two people have already been removed and are safe. Teams for rescue are on the scene.”
A structure that was placed close to Gate number 2 of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the nation’s capital collapsed on Saturday, injuring several people, according to Delhi Police.
The Delhi Police and fire department, among other emergency services, are en route and actively involved in rescue efforts.
At Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, a temporary building gave way on Saturday. The incident happened close to the stadium’s Gate Number 2, where construction was taking place.
After the incident, a group of firefighters and Delhi Police officers arrived on the scene as soon as they learned about the collapse. When the incident happened, police officers were visible in a video taken at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Those hurt in the collapse have been quickly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, according to a statement from a Delhi Police official.
