Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani not happy with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s comments about Waqf properties. Madani says Adityanath is wrong for how he sees Waqf land like it’s the enemy’s instead of understanding the good work Waqf Board does building mosques schools hospitals and orphanages. Madani made it clear it’s government job to protect Waqf property.

Madani said Waqf properties are under the Waqf Act of 1954 and watched by state governments and Central Waqf Council. He said even with these rules lots of Waqf lands are taken over by government and others. Government even said in parliament that over 58000 Waqf properties are taken over. Madani said Chief Minister calling Waqf boards “land mafias” is not right and it hurts the good work the Waqf is supposed to do for people in need.

Madani says public people shouldn’t say things without proof and respect the law on Waqf properties. He’s not happy with Adityanath plans to take Waqf land for housing and hospitals because that’s not what Waqf lands are for they are to help the poor and those who need it. Madani wants Waqf boards to be stronger so the land is used for the right reasons helping poor people instead of playing politics.
