Following the event, MLA Umesh Kumar shared the video, commenting, “After facing a crushing defeat in yesterday’s municipal elections, former BJP MLA Pranav Singh Champion, along with armed miscreants, fired several hundred rounds with dozens of weapons at my official residence today.” Interestingly, during his arrest, Champion claimed he was the one being treated unfairly. In response, authorities have begun the process of revoking Champion’s weapons licenses.
The Dehradun Police have taken Champion into custody and are currently interrogating him at the Nehru Colony Police Station. A substantial police presence has been deployed to the location to control the situation and to investigate the underlying cause of the attack.
