Bhopal's Barkatullah University to be Renamed Vagdevi Bhojpal University

Barkatullah University in Bhopal will be renamed Vagdevi Bhojpal University after its Executive Council passed the proposal last week. The new name references goddess Saraswati and 11th-century king Raja Bhoj. It replaces the 1988 name honoring freedom fighter Maulana Barkatullah Bhopali. Critics oppose abandoning his legacy. The decision now awaits final approval from Madhya Pradesh's Governor.
