BJP Urges Jharkhand to Establish Detention Centers for Suspected Illegal Infiltrators

The BJP in Jharkhand has pressed the Hemant Soren-led government to set up detention centres for suspected illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in border districts, including Pakur, Jamtara, Dumka, and Sahibganj. Claiming that action in neighbouring West Bengal could redirect such entrants into Jharkhand, the party charged that lenient governance has turned the state into a safe haven. It urged district magistrates to conduct verification drives, framing this as both a national security and social welfare issue.
