India's Cancer Burden: Risks and Projections for 2024

Nearly one in ten Indians risks cancer before 75, with seven in 100 at risk of dying from it. Globally, 20.6 million new cancer cases and 9.8 million deaths occurred in 2024. Lung cancer was most prevalent and deadly. India's cancer burden is rising, projected to reach 2.8 million new cases by 2050 due to aging population, lifestyle changes, and limited healthcare access.
