CBSE Extends Answer-Sheet Verification, Re-evaluation to June 7

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students seeking verification and re-evaluation of their answer sheets. The new deadline is now June 7 midnight, a day after the original date of June 6. This decision was made to address technical difficulties students faced when accessing the portal and to handle a high volume of applications following the declaration of results. The process is an essential part of CBSE's post-result services, allowing students to check if their papers were assessed correctly.

This year, CBSE expanded its On-Screen Marking system to improve evaluation accuracy and reduce manual errors. Despite this, many students submitted re-evaluation requests due to technical issues such as blurred answer copies and skipped markings. With over seventy thousand applications already received, the fee structure was revised to make the service more accessible. Payment is required for both verification and per-question re-evaluation requests.

The re-evaluation process starts with students receiving scanned copies of their answer sheets before applying for a review of marks or specific questions. Once re-evaluated, the new marks are final, and no further appeals are accepted. CBSE has activated its helpline to support students and parents throughout the process. The board emphasized that the revised schedule ensures fairness and transparency in the digital evaluation system.

With higher education admissions dependent on these results, re-evaluation outcomes are expected by July. This timeline is crucial for restoring trust in the new on-screen marking system. The extension provides reassurance that student concerns are being addressed, aiming to maintain confidence in CBSE's commitment to a fair and supportive evaluation process. The board continues to monitor the situation and assist students as they navigate the application steps.
