Karnataka Pair Arrested Over Ties to Pakistani Terror Suspect
Two young men were arrested in Karnataka on charges of having links to a Pakistan-based terror suspect. Allabaksh, 24, from Tumakuru and Zameer Khan, 22, from Davanagere, were apprehended following intelligence shared by central agencies about suspicious online activities.
Investigators found that the duo had been in touch with a suspect named Rana from Pakistan through Instagram, X, and WhatsApp. Initial discussions on religion and social issues reportedly evolved into conversations aimed at promoting extremist views.
The suspect had created a WhatsApp group to share messages and discuss sensitive topics, including the killing of a religious leader in Pune. Authorities are checking if the group discussed any plans threatening national security.
Officials arrested the pair after tracking them with help from Davanagere police and CCTV footage. They are now questioning them to find more people in the group and examine their phones for further clues.
