Man Leaps into Cauldron at Ajmer Sharif, Beaten by Crowd
On Saturday, May 9, panic broke out at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah when a man suddenly jumped into a large cauldron used for offerings. The incident was captured on CCTV footage, showing the man, wearing a beige T-shirt and dark pants, approaching the cauldron unnoticed before leaping inside and grabbing money and other items. Another person quickly followed him into the cauldron, seized the intruder, and threw him to the ground. The man in beige received several blows before two others lifted him out of the cauldron by his hands and legs, carrying him away as he struggled to escape.
Authorities reported that the man may be mentally unstable, but his identity and motive remain unknown. The brief chaos at the shrine drew immediate attention from onlookers, who reacted swiftly to remove him from the sacred site. The event highlights ongoing concerns about security and mental health awareness at religious places.
