West Bengal's UCC: A Step Towards Uniform Laws, Says CM Adhikari

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced plans to implement a Uniform Civil Code targeting land jihad, love jihad and forced conversions. The government may form an expert committee led by a retired judge to study the draft before Assembly introduction. The UCC could ensure women's equal property rights, ban polygamy and child marriages, and mandate live-in registration. TMC opposed both this and a public safety bill.
