So there was supposed to be a ceasefire in Gaza this Sunday but it might not happen now. The Israeli government was going to meet to approve the deal but canceled their meeting. They’re saying Hamas tried to change the deal at the last minute and backed out of some things they’d agreed to.
But Palestinian groups are saying that’s not true. They say they didn’t ask for anything extra and they are still sticking with what they originally agreed on. It looks like the problem is between the Israeli government and Hamas and it happened after they had already agreed on the terms of the ceasefire.
Because of this disagreement the ceasefire that was planned for Sunday is now up in the air. Israel is blaming Hamas for the hold up which shows how hard it is for them to agree on anything. It’s also a sign that things in that area are really unstable and could change at any time.
