Gaza War Over 38000 Children Orphaned 13901 Women

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has resulted in over 38,000 Palestinian children becoming orphans since October 2023. A Health Ministry official revealed this heartbreaking number, emphasizing the terrible impact the war is having on families. This large number shows the serious long-term effects the conflict will have on the region.

In addition to the orphaned children, thousands of women have also lost their husbands. According to TRT World, Zaher al-Wahidi reported that at least 13,901 women have become widows because of the war. The breakdown of how the children became orphaned is particularly distressing. About 32,151 children lost their fathers, 4,417 lost their mothers, and 1,918 lost both parents.

The loss of one or both parents leaves children in a very vulnerable situation, requiring significant assistance. These children must deal with emotional trauma, being forced from their homes, and financial difficulties. Therefore, the international community is being asked to step in and offer aid to help these orphaned children rebuild their lives.

Al-Wahidi explained that these numbers truly show the depth of suffering experienced by the people in Gaza. The ongoing conflict continues to cause immense pain, and children are affected the most. As a result, the orphaned children and widowed women will need long-term support and resources for many years to come.
