Palestinian Authority Ready to Govern Gaza After C

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the Palestinian Authority is ready to govern Gaza after the fighting stops. He made this statement after a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel. This shows the PA wants to take control of Gaza again after years of Hamas being in charge.

President Abbas told his government to get everything ready so they can take over in Gaza. He wants the PA to be responsible for Gaza once the conflict ends. This is the first time President Abbas has said this since the ceasefire which makes it an important move.

This announcement comes at a time of conflict and power struggles between the Palestinian Authority Hamas and Israel. President Abbas who leads the PA in the West Bank wants to have control in Gaza again which has been run by Hamas since 2007. He also said there should be an immediate ceasefire and Israeli forces should leave Gaza. While there are no details about how the transfer will happen or what will happen with Hamas the PA clearly wants a big role in Gaza’s future.
