South Kashmir police booked BJP leader Aabid Hussain Nengroo for allegedly cheating a man of ₹8.25 lakh promising a government job and Amarnath Yatra tent permits. The complainant, Waheed Ahmad Itoo, claimed Nengroo used political influence to secure his trust. An FIR was filed under BNS sections. Nengroo denied charges, calling them false. He sought court protection from defamation. The case is under investigation.
